Clarity Tool In development

Understand your benefits before you choose.

The Pravven Benefits Clarity Engine is a decision-support product in development. It is designed to review employee benefit documents and help you understand plan costs, coverage details, important tradeoffs, and the information to confirm before enrollment.

What it’s designed to do

Every finding points back to the page it came from, and anything the documents don’t answer is labeled as missing rather than estimated.

Document review

Identifies key information in your benefit documents, and flags pages that are unreadable or materials that are incomplete.

Benefits breakdown

Explains coverage terms, costs and plan provisions in plain English.

Plan comparison

Lines up the plan information available, including premiums, deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums and other differences that matter.

Missing information

Identifies details that are unclear or unavailable and could affect your decision.

Questions before enrollment

Prepares specific questions for your HR team, benefits administrator or carrier.

From documents to clarity.

Four steps, in order. If a document can't be read completely, the process stops and says why instead of guessing.

Then you decide, with HR, your broker, your carrier or your provider. Pravven doesn't choose a plan or enroll you.

Questions to ask HR

  1. What is the employee premium, and how often is it taken from my pay?
  2. Which specialist copay is correct, $50 or $60?
  3. Are my prescriptions covered, and at which tier?

Pravven's Read Interpretation

A PPO with set copays for routine visits and a $1,500 deductible. With $1,500 a year in premium, a worst-case in-network year comes to about $6,500. It suits someone who wants the option of out-of-network care and expects a few doctor visits. If you're expecting a major procedure, compare its out-of-pocket maximum with your other options first.

Estimated worst-case in-network year

$6,500

Estimate: $1,500 annual premium + $5,000 in-network out-of-pocket maximum, same coverage tier. Out-of-network care and services the plan doesn't cover would be on top of this.

What's missing

  • CriticalThe out-of-network out-of-pocket maximum isn't stated in either document. Without it, there's no ceiling on out-of-network costs.
  • VerifySpecialty drug cost-sharing isn't listed.
  • MinorThe guide doesn't say whether the deductible resets on January 1 or at the start of the plan year.
Illustrative example. The employer, plan, documents and figures are invented, and this is not the output of a real analysis. Always confirm plan details with your plan documents and HR team before you enroll.

Two reports from earlier in development

The single-plan breakdown was generated by the engine from a real Summary of Benefits and Coverage. The three-plan comparison is a constructed example with invented figures, laid out to show the comparison format. Click any page to read it full size.

Important: examples and verification. These reports show how the Pravven Benefits Clarity Engine is being developed. A suggested plan to review first is an educational starting point based on stated preferences and available source material, not a guarantee that the plan is right for you. A confidence rating describes the support available for the information shown; it does not guarantee accuracy, coverage, cost, provider participation, or suitability. Verify material plan details against official plan documents and with your employer, insurer, or a qualified adviser before you make an enrollment decision. The Benefits Clarity Engine is not accepting public uploads.

What confidence means

Confidence describes how well a particular statement is supported by the documents and inputs available. It does not predict whether insurance claims will be paid, or whether a plan is the best choice for you. Even “High” confidence findings should be verified before you enroll.

Detail confidence

How well the plan details are supported: deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums, copays, premiums. Shown in reports as Plan detail confidence.

Decision confidence

How much of what you'd need to choose between plans is known: your costs, network, prescriptions, eligibility. Shown in reports as Decision confidence.

The two can differ. A document can state its deductible clearly (high detail confidence) and still leave out premiums or network information, which keeps decision confidence low.

What High, Moderate and Low mean for detail confidence and decision confidence
RatingDetail confidenceDecision confidence
High The details behind the finding are present, tied to a source page, and consistent with each other. The main inputs a decision depends on are available, and remaining uncertainties are named. You still verify before enrolling.
Moderate The core details are present, but some are incomplete, estimated, or not independently confirmed. Some important questions or confirmations remain open.
Low Key figures or sources are missing, inconsistent, outdated, or can't be checked. Major gaps remain, so any plan preference should be held loosely until they are filled.

These definitions are the standard the Benefits Clarity Engine is being built to. The sample reports above were generated earlier in development, so their ratings were not produced against this exact rubric.
